Dinnie completely redrew the reference image. If you look at them closely, there are numerous variations.

Unfortunately, the reference image and Dinnie’s final version are still pretty gosh darn similar so Dinnie’s beautifully-rendered illustration was not used in any of the books and is presented here for instructional purposes.

Tech Wizard Mike was so agog over Dinnie’s work on this illustration that he did not think about the potential copyright infringement of the reference image until much later.
